Nickel is a white silvery metal with a slight gold hue. It is interesting to note that in nature nickel is only formed during supernovas. Its most common use is as one of the metals that make up stainless steel. It is alloyed with other metals to increase tensile strength. It is also used as a plating metal similar to chrome and can help to form green glass.
