The SR-71 was engineered by Lockheed and the Skunk Works division to be a long-range reconnaissance jet capable of flying at an altitude of 85,000 feet. Because of its tremendous speed (Mach 3.2+ or 2,464 MPH), not a single SR-71 was shot down during service. This high speed also required that the aircraft be constructed with a special titanium alloy.

Wash with mild soap or detergent and lukewarm water. Use a clean, soft cloth, or sponge. Rinse and blot dry with a damp cloth or chamois.
*Never use abrasive cleaners, household cleaners, window-cleaning fluids, scouring compounds, gritty cloths, or strong solvents such as alcohol, acetone, carbon tetrachloride, etc.*
To maintain the brilliant luster of acrylic, wax and occasionally with a quality grade of automobile paste wax (NOT A CLEANER WAX COMBINATION.) Apply a thin coat with a clean, cotton flannel cloth. Then wipe with a clean damp cloth. NEVER USE HOUSEHOLD SPRAY WAXES.

Great little piece of history to own. The one small gripe would definitely be the minuscule dirt or dust specs found inside the cube as you can see in the photo. I know Engineered labs do things by hand so stuff can happen. Not a big deal since they’re very small but it’s definitely noticeable. Also, it would have been cool to receive a paper authenticating the piece inside. The SR71 foundation has a list of blackbirds including this one, but I think for future purchases in this category I’d appreciate the comfort of handing down a piece like this to the next generation with some form authenticity. Overall, I’ll most definitely purchase more items from the brothers at engineered labs. They clearly love what they do.

Both items (the SR-71 and the XB-70) are beautiful! I also extend my compliments on how the two items were packed- a great job and both arrived in perfect condition. Each of these aircraft hold special memories for me. My Father would on a regular basis make business trips to Edwards AFB in the 1960’s (he worked as an engineer for what was then North American Aviation and then Lockheed here in SoCal). On occasion he would take me with him. Because of that, I was able to see a host of aircraft fly, including both the A-12/SR-71 and the XB-70. Thank you for creating such amazing works of art combined with tremendous pieces of history. Looking at them brings back many cherished memories for an old man. BTW, I was so impressed with the quality that I have order two additional pieces. I would like to order all of them, but being retired I have to stay within my budget.
Thought USPS lost the package, worked with me, they were quick to respond and offer solutions as well as replacement, ended up finding it but the willingness to work with someone goes a long way. Girlfriend was absolutely thrilled with the gift and will definitely keep an eye out for other cool displays to buy! Highly recommend.
My Dad loves the SR-71 Blackbird. It's his favorite plane. He was so excited to finally own a piece of his favorite plane. It was an awesome gift, and makes a great keepsake.

I purchased this as a gift for my son, an avid aviation enthusiast. To say he loves it would be an understatement. The quality is fantastic. A perfectly clear acrylic casting, with the printed blueprint on the back allows for a true three dimensional display. In a word, Awesome.

Absolutely loved the SR-71 blueprint with the Titanium wreckage piece in the clear acrylic block. Beyond my expectations. Comes with a certificate of authenticity and even includes self-sticking bumpers to set the block on. THANKS!!
