WWII D-Day Invasion Flag - 48 Stars Artifact Display (lot #5)
products.product.pickup_availability.unavailable
In the early hours of June 6, 1944, American paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne Division dropped into occupied France as part of the D-Day invasion. To identify themselves amid the chaos, they wore small 48-star American flag patches sewn onto their uniforms. These flags symbolized unity and helped prevent friendly fire during nighttime operations. The flag on display is an original WWII shoulder flag, made from lightweight cotton or oilcloth and issued to airborne and glider troops. Preserved in pristine condition, it honors the courage of those who fought behind enemy lines on D-Day.
Please note: All invasion flags offered are authentic WWII-era pieces; however, they vary in style, condition, material, and construction due to differences in wartime production and age. Pricing reflects these variations accordingly.
