Thorium's atomic number is 90 and its symbol is Th. Thorium is silvery and tarnishes black when it is exposed to air, forming thorium dioxide; it is moderately soft, malleable, and has a high melting point. All known thorium isotopes are unstable. The most stable isotope, 232Th, has a half-life of 14.05 billion years, or about the age of the universe
Thorium was discovered in 1828 by the Norwegian amateur mineralogist Morten Thrane Esmark and identified by the Swedish chemist Jöns Jacob Berzelius, who named it after Thor, the Norse god of thunder. Some uses for thorium include heat-resistant ceramics, aircraft engines, and in light bulbs.

Wash with mild soap or detergent and lukewarm water. Use a clean, soft cloth, or sponge. Rinse and blot dry with a damp cloth or chamois.

To maintain the brilliant luster of acrylic, wax and occasionally with a quality grade of automobile paste wax (NOT A CLEANER WAX COMBINATION.) Apply a thin coat with a clean, cotton flannel cloth. Then wipe with a clean damp cloth. NEVER USE HOUSEHOLD SPRAY WAXES.

Like all the Engineered Labs products I’ve bought, the thorium cube is beautiful. It looks great with my platinum group metals. For my collecting style, these cubes are the perfect way to collect and display rare elements. Far better than little bits at the bottom of vials!

I never received the item at all. It was shipped twice: first, DHL failed to deliver it, and then you refused to ship it, allegedly due to certain prohibitions—absurd ones, at that—which no other company knows anything about. I bought from Luciteria without any issues, and I currently buy from novaElements; they sell it too and know nothing about such idiotic restrictions. The problem is that your sample is the most beautiful one. I really regret this; I wanted to buy other items as well, but unfortunately, under these circumstances, I have to give up.
Has a slight scratch on the bottom but I can live with it. Otherwise it looks great with my collection.

I was really impressed with the size of the sample and the quality of the cube itself. The welding rod specimen is a good representation of the material and the clarity of the cube is top notch.

All my element cubes from Engineered Labs are excellent. The sample size is large and the element Symbol, Atomic # and Atomic weight beautifully engraved on the clear cube. My thorium cube is great with an exceptionally nice sample. Love it! Megan
