After months of research and testing, the top-secret "Manhattan Project" produced the world's first nuclear bomb. The device was successfully detonated on July 16th, 1945 at Alamogordo, New Mexico under the code name "Trinity". The resulting explosion was equivalent to the energy of 18,000 tons of TNT. The immense heat of the atomic blast melted the desert sand as it was drawn up into the fireball. The liquid sand rained down, forming sheets of glass as it cooled. This atomic glass has come to be known as Trinitite.

Customer photo review of Trinitite (First Atomic Bomb)

After a road trip in May, going from Los Alamos, seeing a sample of Trinitite in Albuquerque nuclear museum and then stopping at the Trinity test site on route to White Sands having the opportunity to own something like this was a dream. After receiving it, it’s better than I’d hoped for, it’s an amazing piece of history that is presented beautifully. A incredible talking point that gives me another opportunity to bore people with my holiday.

Customer photo review of Trinitite (First Atomic Bomb)

I really like this piece. It’s not just a rock, it’s a small part of history from the Trinity test. The fact that it’s sealed in acrylic makes it feel safe and well-preserved, and it also gives it a display-quality look rather than something loose or fragile.

Customer photo review of Trinitite (First Atomic Bomb)

It’s sure as heck the real thing. The quality of the display has already drawn positive comments. I have it on a shelf, next to a small meteorite, a fossil shark’s tooth, and a small vial of some black sand from Iwo Jima. I like having objects that open a door into history for an inquisitive mind.

Purchased two of the Trinitite showcases from Engineered Labs. There was an issue with USPS picking up the order, from the seller. I reached out to Engineered Labs and they turned around and shipped it thru a commercial carrier. It turned out, I received it well ahead of the shipping timeframe. Now, that is 100% Customer Service! The two showcases with Trinitite is awesome and keeping one for myself and giving the other as a birthday gift! Hands down best Customer Service and Highest Quality and Innovative Materials used in their products. Highly recommended and will purchase from them in the future!

Trinitite (First Atomic Bomb)

Wife bought this for me for our anniversary. Got 2 little pieces instead of one solid chunk. Disappointing. Doesn't look nearly as good.

Trinitite (First Atomic Bomb)

Communication and shipping were excellent and speedy. The display that I received had two small specimens of Trinitite rather than a larger single piece as in the advertisement. These may be the only samples available, but non the less was disappointing.
